Description
Escape to a deserted island and create your own paradise as you explore, create, and customize in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game. Your island getaway has a wealth of natural resources that can be used to craft everything from tools to creature comforts. You can hunt down insects at the crack of dawn, decorate your paradise throughout the day, or enjoy sunset on the beach while fishing in the ocean. The time of day and season match real life, so each day on your island is a chance to check in and find new surprises all year round.

Show off your island utopia to family and friends—or pack your bags and visit theirs. Whether playing online* or with others beside you**, island living is even better when you can share it. Even without hopping on a flight, you’ll meet a cast of charming animal residents bursting with personality. Friendly faces like Tom Nook and Isabelle will lend their services and happily help you grow your budding community. Escape to your island getaway—however, whenever, and wherever you want.

Polygon - "...crafting systems in this game are lovely."
The Verge - "the video game equivalent of a relaxing getaway…"
IGN - "... full of surprises."
GameSpot - "the ability to alter your island to fit your grand plans is exciting. "

Really???
I want to know who the geniuses are that thought putting this game on sale for 4 cents less than original price was a good idea. Like really? Anyway, besides that, my daughters really enjoy playing this game, great for all ages.

Awesome! Except...
The Good: Literally everything except...

The Bad: This has sparked actual screaming *fights* in my household because of the one island per Switch deal. Sharing is not usually difficult for us and my family shares the Switch all the time with other games. Watching someone play when it's their turn is fun to do. But one person getting creative license over a single island per Switch and not per account? What did you think was going to happen, Nintendo? Peace? Do you all live alone or do you think we all are going to shell out a couple thousand just to keep fights from breaking out over a bridge being erected or a beloved/bemoaned villager being ousted/invited? The game is meant to be a relaxing escape and it is... until the Island Rep breaks out Lloid to build an expensive incline to a cliff that goes nowhere or thinks it'd be hilarious to send Sprinkle packing because she's the villager someone else likes best.

It's a 5 star game. It gets 3 for literally inciting days long fueds. Days. Fix the single island thing, even if it means buying another cartridge or memory card like we did to get around this in previous versions. People will throw $60 at you five times for each family member to have their own control of their own island on the same console if you'd just let them. We'll do it. We clearly love this game franchise.

You get to design a whole island and your house in real time, and you can change it up however you want! You can also design clothes, pathways, and customize items in the game. My niece and I have been able to hang out during the pandemic playing this online together and it's been so much fun!I

Good
This is probably the best Nintendo switch game I’ve ever played! You get to upgrade your island little by little, and work on your house and so much more!!! The only down side is, you only get 1 island per switch. this bothers me because when we first got the game, it was for my 5 year old sister. Then we made an island and we Eventually found out the she is the Mayor of the island and she does not know how to read when I am 9 and I know how to read so most of the time I have to go on her profile to do things.

Best. Game. Ever.
I mean... are you living under a rock if you haven’t heard of this game?? As someone who grew up playing Animal Crossing, this game is EVERYTHING I wanted. Now, be warned, you only have one island per switch, not per account, but Animal Crossing has always been like that. It’s a great, amazing, life changing game, and it came at a GREAT time! I got a switch just to play it!

I Adore this Game!
Yes, it did come in a little late, but Animal Crossing was well worth the wait. It’s so fun and relaxing, and I recommend it to anyone suffering with or without anxiety. It’s slowly becoming one of my longest played game.
